Product Designer
Overview
The Non-Jewelry Product Designer plays a key role in developing new lifestyle products and packaging concepts that enhance YVIS’s creative world. You’ll design both physical products and packaging experiences that reflect our aesthetic — beautiful, functional, and emotionally engaging — while ensuring production feasibility and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Concept & Design
Develop design concepts for non-jewelry categories (e.g., bags, accessories, home décor, perfume packaging, gifting items).
Research global trends, materials, and consumer behavior to inspire product direction.
Translate brand DNA into tangible design language, ensuring every item feels “YVIS.”
Create detailed sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings (using software such as Rhino, Keyshot, or Adobe Illustrator).
2. Sampling & Production Development
Work closely with the Sourcing & Production Manager to prototype and refine designs.
Review material samples, colorways, and finishes to ensure design accuracy.
Troubleshoot design or production challenges while maintaining product quality and brand standards.
3. Packaging Design
Conceptualize and design premium packaging for jewelry, watches, perfumes, and lifestyle items — including boxes, pouches, paper bags, cards, and gift sets.
Develop dielines, material specs, and finishing guides for suppliers.
Ensure packaging aligns with brand identity and unboxing experience.
Collaborate with vendors to produce accurate mock-ups and final packaging samples.
4. Collaboration & Coordination
Collaborate with the Creative Director and Marketing Team on product storytelling, photoshoots, and campaign visuals.
Liaise with external suppliers, factories, and packaging vendors.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure designs meet business timelines and cost targets.
Partner actively with the other Product Designer to maintain consistency, share insights, and exchange ideas that strengthen the overall product portfolio.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary team members to develop cohesive design systems that connect jewelry and non-jewelry categories seamlessly.
Be able to adapt designs according to production limitations and make necessary adjustments while maintaining design integrity and brand standards.
Bring positive energy and a collaborative mindset to motivate and support other team members, fostering an environment of open, effective communication without drama, ego, or hierarchy.
5. Trend & Market Research
Stay updated on design and lifestyle trends, seasonal color palettes, and materials innovation.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and suggest opportunities for YVIS’s next product directions.
